I have a painting by Patty Karl in my office. What it says to me is:

 

"Amidst darkness, chaos and the demons that thrive on ignorance and unconsciousness, I am the light.

I am always within you, at the core of your Being, burning true and strong. The demons may sometimes seem to eclipse my power but this is only an illusion. I am always shining and there for you to remember and reclaim.

 

It is a powerful affirmation of the healing process, one that may offer hope to someone else on the journey, to know that in the darkest of times there is hope and light.
